"Third from the Sun," from Rod Serling's Twilight Zone

Every year during TRW we select an episode from the Twilight Zone that reflects the year's theme.  This year it was easy, and there were many episodes about outer space and aliens  from which to choose. The one we watched had a nice twist at the end that caught all the students by surprise.

Who is the star guessing game

The students at Taylor have been playing a variation of this game for many years, and it is always a highlight of TRW. In this version all the answers were a starring character in a book or movie or the actor who starred in a movie based on a book. All winners received a candy prize.

Tissue window stars craft project

There is always a craft activity scheduled during the week. To align with the theme, the students were given tissue paper squares and instructions to fole and glue to create tissue paper stars. The stars really show off the colors and light when displayed in a window.

Giving books a 0 to 5 star rating

Students were asked to select a book from the collection that they would like to recommend by giving it a star rating. Most of the books won a four or five star rating, but students were not quiet about books that disappointed them. Visit here to see all the recommended books.

Guess the number of stars in the jar

Candies shaped like stars were loaded into a jar, and the students had all week to one guess as to the number of stars that fit in the jar.
