English Language Arts

7th graders in  ELA with Mrs. Valence read the book Flush by Carl Hiaason. As a companion to this novel study, the students will complete this research activity and create an annotated bibliography in Easybib. February 2013
7th grade ELA classes will read the poem, The Cremation of Sam McGee by Robert W. Service. Students will research burial practices around the world through history by using these links. January 2013
7th grade create movies to submit to AASL You Belong video contest.

Field Trip to Ninth Ward on November 18, 2011

The seventh grade took a trip to the Ninth Ward in New Orleans in November of 2011 to see the devastation and rebirth from Hurricane Katrina. English teachers Cheryl Bordelon and Lisa Valence led the way along with librarian Elizabeth Kahn and the P. E. teacher who drove the bus, Vicki Foster. During the trip, the students used iPads to document the visit. Here are three videos with highlights from this trip.
